Rashtriya Madyamik Shiksha Abhiyan Mission, Assam organizes Teachers Eligibility Test-TET. It is organized at two levels.
1. Primary Level,
2. Upper Primary Level.
This exam is organized each year. Candidates after clearing this exam can apply for the post of teacher in the govt. as well as in private schools. The schools where they are applying must be associated with the education board of Assam govt. RMSA-Rashtriya Madhayamik Shiksha Abhiyan was opened by the Govt. of India to provide education to each & every child. It organizes TET to give the teacher eligibility certifications to capable teachers.
Essential Criteria: Candidates must be graduate from any stream & they must have B.Ed degree.
Pattern of Exam: There are 3 papers
Paper 1- Those are applying for class 1st to 5th, they can attempt this paper,
Paper 2- Those are applying for class 6th to 8th, they can attempt this paper.
All the questions are of objective type.
Part 1- It consists of General studies & Current Affairs. The paper contains 100 marks.
· General Studies- Indian Political System, Constitution of India, History & Culture of India, Geography related to India, General Science, Technology, Economy of India, Mental Ability, Reasoning, Environment, Management in the Schools, Secondary Education in India.
· Current affairs- National & International news, Political development, Matters related to State, Economic developments, Literature, Culture, Art, Games, Sports, Scientific development & Technological advancements.
Paper 2- It consists of Pedagogy & General English. This paper contains 100 marks.
· Pedagogy- It carries Teaching part, Educational Psychology & Psychology of Adolescence.
Process of Learning-Major Laws of Learning, General Principles of Teaching, Maxims of Teaching, Modern Teaching, Role of Motivation in Learning, Teaching Methods & its Techniques, Teaching Skills, Teaching Devices, Taxonomy Objectives: Cognitive, Affective & Psychomotor, Teaching Aids.
Educational Psychology- Attention, Personality, Application of Educational Psychology, Interest, Children Education, Mental Health & Hygiene, Adjustment.
· General English carries essay writing, composition, comprehension, Speech etc.
To clear the TET, 60% marks is needed. SC/ST/PWD candidates get 5% relaxation in marks.
Application Process: Application forms can be downloaded from the website www.ssaassam.gov.in. It should be completely filled in the mentioned format. Application form should be sent with all the necessary certificates to the address provided in the website.
