Karnataka CET 2013- Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2013 an Entrance Exam which is held every year to join several dental/ medical/ architecture/ engineering courses in the many colleges & universities all over Karnataka. Karnataka Exam Authority (KEA) organizes & regulates Karnataka CET. Candidates belong to Karnataka can only appear. But candidates belonging outside Karnataka can join under management quota.
Karnataka CET 2013 involves 4 subjects: Biology, Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. Candidates who are interested in Engg courses they have to apply for Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry exams. Candidates interested in dental/ medical courses have to apply for Chemistry, Physics & Biology exams. To get admission in B.Arch candidates must have cleared NATA.
Examination Criteria: There are individual papers for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Every paper has 60 objective type ques. of 70 min.
1. For Dental/ Medical courses, candidates should be 12th passed or exam which is equal to it with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with min. 50% marks in Phy,Chem & Bio (SC/ST/OBC-40%).
2. For Engineering candidates should be 12th passed or exam which is equal to it with subjects Maths, English, Physics & any of the Bio-Technology / Chemistry / Electronics / Comp Science / Biology with min. 45% total marks in opt. subjects(SC/ST/OBC-40%). Final yr students of 12th class exam or PUC can also appear.
3. For Architecture candidates should be 12th passed or exam which is equal to it with Maths with min. 50% total marks in all the subs (SC/ST/OBC-45%). Final yr students of 12th class exam can also appear. Candidates must have also cleared NATA with min. 40% marks.
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 17 - 25 yrs.
Fee Structure: Gen. Candidates have to deposit Rs.650/- while ST/SC & Category-1 have to pay Rs.500/- through NEFT Transaction or cash to the Bank Account of KEA with IFSC Code IDIB000M010 & Account No.878333780 at the Malleswaram Branch of Indian Bank at Bangalore.
Application Criteria: Candidates can receive KCET 2013 application forms from the office of the Principal or Head of Institution where they are studying or have studied in 12th standard. Candidates should send the completely filled forms either through Speed Post or at their concerned school or college.
